Unemployment: Almost worse than '81-'82
I gave a talk on the economy on Friday to my company's employees, and mentioned that this one was going to be as bad as 1981-82, which I had skated through during college. Well, it looks as the slope of job losses is about to make this, the "Great Recession," worse than that very tough stretch in the early eighties.

We don't have the talent in either political party to solve the country's problems.
An AP story yesterday: "President Barack Obama on Friday issued an executive order backing the use of union labor for large-scale federal construction projects."
The AP adds: "But the Associated Builders and Contractors, a trade group, said the order would unfairly steer federal construction contracts to unionized contractors despite the fact that 84 percent of U.S. construction workers do not belong to labor unions."
