Nancy Pelosi squats on Republicans

Nancy Pelosi is amending House rules to revert to the status quo ante 1994, when Newt Gingrich and the Contract Republicans imposed a series of reforms to improve the "fairness" of the "People's House," including term limits for committee chairmen. As outraged Republicans have observed, this is hardly consistent with the spirit of "hope and change." Read the whole thing.

Of course, the Democrats would not have done this if they thought they would be back in the minority any time soon.

Let's face it, the Democrats are on a roll! They stole the seat in Minnesota, bought the one in Illinois and lied their way into the White House...and the National IQ has dropped to the point that nobody knows or cares, preoccupied with making the digital TV conversion on time.

One would think this would unify the Republican Party and forge the beginning of a REAL Contract with America...but that remains to be seen.

Pelosi is disgusting, and the image provided by the above post's title is about right.

I think the title of this post should be altered to Pelosi squats on us all.

"In a related story, Nancy Pelosi today announced she was changing her job title from 'Speaker of the House' to 'Fuehrer of the House' in order to more accurately reflect her duties, prestige, and power."

Why worry over nothing? Pelosi herself promised:

"Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan," said Pelosi.

Would she lie?

And this was only a few months ago:

Term limits for Democratic Committee chairs have nothing to do with Republican majorities. Getting rid of them actually reduces Pelosi's power over her fellow Democratic congressmen. (And I'm speaking as someone who thinks term limits are probably a good idea, btw.)

As for "recommit" motions, read Kevin Drum:

This is truly silly.
