Love and stuff from 52 to 48

Here's a little online community art project that is either a heart-warming affirmation of America or a teeny bit nauseating, depending on your personality.

For my part, I think it is a friendly gesture from a bunch of undoubtedly nice people. I just worry that the same folks believe that this might also be the best path to peace in the Middle East.

Somebody ought to send this to Brad DeLong who, smart as he is, seems to believe (along with the most of the lefty blogosphere), that only Republicans "smear" their opposition. Somebody ought to ask Joe the Plumber what he thinks of that proposition.

No, the smart Brad Delong is right. Calling Republicans Nazi fascist terrorist racist homophobic war criminals who steal elections, engage in war profiteering, want to take away Grandma and Grandpa's social security, starve children, poison the planet and have put their interests above the country isn't smearing anyone.

As my liberal/left friends insist when I ask them, "We're not smearing your side because it's all true".

Okay.

I'd post this over at DeLong's site but who knows what it'll look like after he edits it for his own purposes.

Smart man; thin skin.

They had a lot of fun with this at "Protein Wisdom". As Jeff Goldstein said,"I threw up a little in my mouth when I read this."

I was surprised at the grace in defeat by some here at TH and by some at The Corner. I've read that foreigners have said McCain's concession speech is an example for them, and that Iranian reformers said that reform in the US means reform there is possible too.

So yes, this is a good thing.

A lot of us already live in "purple" households.

It is great for all of us to be challenged by others with different points of view.

And to remember that it's "just" politics. We can certainly want the same things (at least many of the same things), but disagree on how we think they can best be achieved.

I suspect that the folks who post photos there are not the raging-yet-impotent Leftist conspiracy freaks that have filled politics in this country with so much bile since 2000. They're just people, and people can be nice.

This is a sickening exhibit. If you can honestly react like this, then you must have no concept at all of the issues in question.

Especially crazy is the concept of(equally) divided families. How can you be unable to chart a cohesive course to the success of your family and have the ego to believe you are important in charting the course of the nation.

This whole election was the curse of the uninformed electorate.
