By the standards of this blog, I'd be considered a liberal, and I think the cartoon is kind of funny.
One of the interesting things about the next four years, as the Republicans get exiled into the political wilderness they deeply deserve, will be whether conservatives finally get any good at humor. I think humor's a weapon for the powerless against the powerful, so it's why conservative humor has just been terrible for the last eight years.
Maybe this modestly funny cartoon is a start.
There have been other gems here and there over the years, but they've been largely buried under the deluge of anti-Republicanism.
There's Cox and Forkum, for instance, who were often funny.

Damn, they changed their archive system. There was one from 2003/4 from Time.com where some guy was in the Garden of Eden bitching about how long it was taking God to create the world. (7 days) The punchline was, "This is a quagmire!"
