Did we get al-Zawahiri?
There are highly-caveated stories that a Predator strike from a drone has severely injured and perhaps killed al Qaeda's #2, Ayman al-Zawahiri. As Rusty notes, al-Zawahiri is rumored to have been killed fairly regularly. Keep hope alive.

, atThis link caused an error message on my laptop, but if we have indeed knocked off this fulsome pile of fertilizer, what a great way to kick off the weekend. At the rate we're taking out these cretins, that scrawny sorry-ass OBL will be reduced to playing solitaire, as he won't be able to put together a foursome for bridge.

Locker room, you probably are running IE 7, and the linked page is probably using Sitemeter. A glitch emerged last night that made it impossible for people with IE 7 to load pages running Sitemeter. I removed the Sitemeter code here, but other bloggers probably have not done the same.
, ati think a better question is: what did we give to pakistan in exchange for them ratting him out (now). these guys are very vulnerable to the arab states that sponsor them; they can be whacked at a moment's notice. so you have to ask yourself "why now?".
, atEven if we didn't get him, at least he knows that we still care enough to keep trying to reach out to him.

Pakistan is not an Arab state.
Also, most of the Arab states are actively hunting these guys.
Case in point, Al-Zarqawi was pinpointed and targeted for destruction by a Jordanian agent.
