Al Gore for Veep?
This seems like an extremely bad idea. Barack Obama's greatest strength is that it very difficult for his opponents to lay a glove on him. His past is relatively clean (various clerical and Chicago-oriented kerfuffles notwithstanding), and in any case the press has formed an almost impervious cordon sanitaire around him. Gore, on the other hand, has built up a long list of specific statements and actions that make him both attackable and mockable. Why would the Imperfect Vessel want to take on that kind of baggage?

, atWell, if electing Obama would be "atonement" for slavery, electing Gore would be "atonement" for the "stolen" 2000 election. Sounds like the feel good ticket from hell.

I think it would be more accurate to describe Obama's past as "pristine" (untouched, unused, in "like-new condition") rather than "clean."
