One of my uncles was a Marine and ended up on Corregidor. He missed the Hell Ship experience, but got the Palawan Massacre one instead. He was one of 11 survivors of that prison camp.
Not all the Japanese were held accountable for their war crimes, including those responsible for the Palawan Massacre.
My uncle never forgave McArthur for not sending the promised supplies to Bataan and Corregidor and he never forgave the U.S. for not prosecuting all the Japanese responsible for atrocities.
