Barratry watch: American law professor recruits Iran as client

University of Illinois law professor Francis Boyle has, according to this report from Iran, submitted a request to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that he be engaged to "represent Iran in an international tribunal for trying the Zionist regime on charges of genocide of Palestinians and the blockade in the Gaza Strip."

Professor Boyle accuses Israel of committing 'Nuremberg offenses' against the Palestinians.

Boyle has recently been calling for the impeachment of US President George W. Bush.

In fairness, Boyle also called for the impeachment of Bill Clinton, and he is a strong advocate for the independence of Hawaii, which, no doubt, has suffered "Nuremberg offenses" inflicted on it by the other 49 states. It does make one wonder, though, whether the taxpayers of Illinois understand how their money is being spent by their state university.

He's hoping to make some money, as well as advance his political beliefs. Same reason other liberal advocates like to aid repressive regimes. We shouldn't demand he stop expressing his political opinions just because he lives off of taxpayer money .

No, we should demand he stop because they are reprehensible opinions.

If only he could get Hawaii out of the way now...Obama was born there and if it wasn't part of the US he couldn't run for President right? Wishful thinking I suppose
