The best thing about Al-Jazeera
I have to admit, if it were available on my television scheme I would occasionally spin over to Al-Jaz English just to see and hear this woman.
Of course, I would hate myself afterwards.

Wow, she looks like a computer simulation.
I mean, what could you do to her face to make her more beautiful?

Odd thing is that in some parts of the target audience's realm, her hair would have to be covered with a scarf, she might have to wear a full face veil and she might never be allowed to speak to anyone but her husband.
I much prefer her this way though her reportage, views, and platform leave much to be desired...the face and the voice are heavenly.

Yes, it would be a shame for her to be covered in a full length burqua. Of course, in this country (if that's where she is), that's entirely her decision -- she has the free will and liberty to practice her faith and dress as she wishes.
Which raises the issue, how is it that the professionals in the English language version of al Jaz essentially shill for the cave dwellers? Is it just a business decision? Don't they realize that on balance that they have more in common with us than with a group of fundamentalists sleeping in a different cave or hut every night somewhere in Waziristan?

They dress that way on regular al-Jazeera too. Nit: Burqas are Afghani, not Arab, dress.
The (Arab... I've never seen the English one) channel honestly has a worse reputation than it really deserves. Although their idea of 'fair and balanced' differs from ours, they do make an honest effort. It's only when they fuck it up and say something really stupid that we in the States hear about it.
And they prefer to talk about, get this, NEWS. It's a radical concept, spending time and effort talking about Lebanese car bombs, and Jordanian parliamentary efforts, and the latest round of meetings between Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi about what to do about Iran instead of stories about how crowded the malls are at Christmas, that some woman ran away from her wedding, or Timmy fell down a well.
Better than CNN, IMO. Anyone else heard that anecdote that Israelis prefer Al-Jazeera to BBC because BBC is stronger in their anti-Israel bias?
Dawnfire82 is "money" as always. He makes some really great points.
But to TigerHawk's real point was the hotness of the announcer. I have had three experiences where I have been to two Persian weddings and a Chaldean wedding and at each one I walked away with a very sore neck from all of the whiplash. Each of these weddings were very big affairs (the Persian weddings were former Shah of Iran colleagues who fled to Houston when he left Iran.) At those weddings I thought it was just the "high-caste" that I was making-merry with. However, I would then go to a Chaldean wedding in Michigan a few years later and once again I was astounded by the ridiculous number of hotties present.
I now even believe because of the beauty of these women, I can see why their men want them in burquas?
