Husbands: News you can use!

You men out there need to decide whether this is bad news, or potentially exculpatory information should you, er, forget something. You know, like that time you did that really inconsiderate thing 15 years ago.

Men are more likely than women to have problems with memory and other thinking skills, symptoms considered to be an early stage of dementia, research suggests....

Men were one-and-a-half times more likely to have mild cognitive impairment than women. The prevalence in men increased from 12 percent in men ages 70 to 74 up to 40 percent in the oldest age group, ages 85 to 89. "This was an unexpected finding," [Dr. Rosebud] Roberts said during a press briefing, referring to the difference between men and women.

The finding remained the same regardless of a man's education or marital status.

This was an unexpected finding? Seriously? On what planet did Dr. Rosebud Roberts form her expectations?

If it weren't for our forgetfulness, there wouldn't be relationships. Can you imagine if men treasured up every slight for the last 40 years and dumped them in every discussion and every quarrel? No. That slightly blank look, that incomprehension when accused of "looking" at that blonde at that party back in graduate school, you know the one I mean and don't try to claim you don't - what would a marriage be like if the man were throwing back detailed snits and accusations in the same manner? I'm telling you we are selected, maritally and genetically, for collander memory. And that's a good thing.

In my experience, women aren't any better at remembering details of the past. Rather, they *claim* to be better at remembering details from the past, and you're just covering up your history of evil deeds if you say otherwise.

I also happen to know that if you produce documented evidence that proves your position, (like letters written when you were off in the desert with a gun that they had no idea you still had) they get very upset.

Keep a journal, gentlemen, and ruin their hobby.

Personally I think that one reason Men have more memory lapses is because of women, which reminds me I need to drive by the University softball field today since it is nice and sunny, and the short shorts are... what was I talking about?
