The Norski jihad
Does this mean we'll have to start profiling the good-looking blonde people?
Jørn Holme, chief of The Norwegian Police Security Service (Politiets sikkerhetstjeneste PST), confirmed for the first time on Monday that active recruiting efforts are being carried out by older, militant extremists in Norway.
Holme refused to go into detail, but he told newspaper Aftenposten that intelligence gathering indicates that the terror challenge in Norway has gone beyond extremists' efforts to gain support for terrorist activity abroad.
"We've had reports about older, manipulative Islamic extremists here in the country, who have tried to motivate youth to take part in jihad (holy war) attacks abroad," he told Aftenposten. He said PST is taking the reports seriously.
I'm goofing, of course. The recruitment efforts target insufficiently integrated Muslim youth, not ethnic Norwegians. It does remind us of a serious and unresolved question: How long can the United States regard the holders of European passports with equanimity?

It would cost us far more to be nasty to generic Islamic holders of European passports, than the benefit of keeping out a few bad apples.
There simply aren't that many jihadis in the Muslim population in Europe, much less in America.

It's not a question of how long, it's a question of how many terrorist acts are perpetrated in the US by people coming from Europe, using European documentation. Without such attacks, we stay as we are. If we do see them then enhanced travel screening and restrictions will be imposed, under any President.
The history of the US shows clearly that in the wake of atrocities on our own soil, while a small minority will go on ranting about the desirability of the Armed Forces needing to hold 'bake sales', etc., the rest of the population will come to its senses in less than 24 hours.

I suggest that you read what Bruce Bawer, a gay American living in Europe, has to say. I believe he recently had an article in Pajamas Media. He has a website, and wrote While Europe slept.
