Cervine trespass

A buck walked through the backyard of our still-under-construction house this morning. Not that there is anything unusual about that in Princeton. But it is good to know that when TEOTWAKI arrives we will have access to fresh meat.

Here is a picture of the house, as of this morning. Still some ways to go.

I hope with that big bucks (pun not deliberate) house, you are getting R-40, R-60 insulation

Beautiful house TH. Now please don't do the typical yuppie thing of awarding every job to the lowest bidder just to save a couple of cents. It always comes back to bite you in the end.

We have deer wandering through our town and right down main street sometimes but with the deer comes the mountian lions

They come through my back yard like that. And here is what I use:

Almost perfectly silent; complete passthrough on any shot that should be taken; they walk a few steps and lay down while the other deer watch curiously, and go back to feeding. My experience has been that whitetail deer like yours are better eating than our mulies, and deer taken with an arrow taste better than deer taken with a rifle. Strength to your arm.

The cervids might not be so obvious post-TEOTWAKI.

People once though it was great to have deer in their yards now they have become rats with antlers too bad for those flatlanders their not bambi anymore
