The State Department's rapid response team
The New York Times, of all publications, is now hosting bits from Bloggingheads. Perhaps that is a good sign that there is change afoot. Anyway, the lead video is a discussion between journalist Glenn Kessler and political scientist and blogger Daniel Drezner about the State Department's new "rapid response" office, which is charged with monitoring the Arab and Muslim media for stories that might call for a quick American response. It sounds like a very useful program, rather amazingly the product of the relationship between Karen Hughes and Condoleezza Rice. Take a look.
