Speaking of war crimes...
THEY'VE ALREADY USED AMBULANCES, so why should anyone be surprised when Palestinian terrorists use a car labelled "TV" to stage an attack? It's all upside for them -- no significant outrage now, and maybe it'll lead the Israelis to accidentally shoot up a truck full of real reporters, which will then cause worldwide condemnation. Of the Israelis.
And when it happens that condemnation will be outrageous precisely because it is so predictable. Palestinian strategists understand the objective, which is to put the Israeli military in an impossible situation. Everybody else also understands the objective, and -- this is the big point -- everybody understands that the Palestinian strategists understand. It is one giant cesspool of known-knowns, so those who condemn Israel when it happens will be, yes, collaborators.

Precisely. The predictability will be conveniently forgotten then.
Once people have put in the effort to overlook the obvious, the rationalizations flow easily.
Of course, the media are only all too happy to be manipulated by the Palestinians. The Palestinians don't even need to be all that savvy or clever about it. When "journalists" and their syndicators are so complicit, you can get away with being pretty damn brazen.
See www.seconddraft.org for an exhaustive set of details & videos on this topic. Readers who haven't seen this stuff will find it to be pretty amazing.

Off topic, but relating to Glenn Reynolds, see his critical review in today's Philadelphia Inquirer of "The Cult of the Amateur: How Today's Internet Is Killing Our Culture," by Andrew Keen.

I just talked with an Eric @ Grassroots which is a spinoff of the NRA.
I mentioned to him that we celebrate our Bill of Rights in many tangible, overt ways. We blog, write letters to edtors, practice the religion we want., etc.
However the 2nd amendment that secures all the others is a day we do not demonstrably celebrate. Gun ownership was so important it was the second amendment passed.
I suggested that on a day such as the 4th of July gun owners shoulder their weapons and carry them *EMPTY* to the local parade, or to the State Capitol ,
or to the City Hall. Long guns only.
It is a powerful visual image. I don't know how many gun owners there are in the USA but if 10% or 20% participated the numbers would be in the millions.
The message. That we are willing to exercise all of our rights as citizens, especially the one that protects all the others.
Let the press cover that story! And our enemies take note.

I guess the media finally found an atrocity committed by the palestinian terrorists they are offended by. Use an ambulance? Not a problem. Hide behind children? Hey, they are oppressed and have to use whatever they can. Use a TV van? I could get killed, stop them!

Last I checked, it was white Europeans like Michael Collins in the Irish war for independence from England who developed a lot these barbaric tactics these smelly brown people have adopted. Likewise, I recall my Sunday schooling where the Jews under Moses, then Joshua, rolled back into Canaan and slaughtered whole tribes to the last crying baby, all in the name of sovereignty and God. I recall my Civil War history wherein nathan Bedford Forrest plain ol' attacked ambulance wagons full of wounded freed slaves who were fighting for the Union. For THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. They were shot or bayoneted, along with a few women nurses. All in the killings leading up to lovely events like Ft. Pillow.
I'm not saying the Palestinians are victims or downtrodden. I'm not saying the current state of Israel is a bandit state. Far from it. It's just that when you start beating your chest and pointing fingers, you find yourself in some mighty surprising company.

Actually, that is a fair comment, Chris. Perhaps a touch off-topic, but no more so than many comments sections.
I don't know what the whiteness has got to do with it, but it is certainly true that a great many people from supposedly civilized societies have engaged in similar cruel deceptions. That is one reason why the Geneva Accords came into being, I think. Such barbarities have been the norm rather than the exception for most of human history. We all have ancestors who have done such things.
The difference is in the media false equivalence, I think. Were all sides of the conflict engaging in such reprehensible acts, reporting them would be fair game. The difficulty comes when one side is and one isn't, and the light gray hats get condemned as being no better than the dark gray hats.
Dont forget that the terrorists group Palitinian Liberation Organization and how YASSIR ARAFAT was a member of the PLO and how they still managed to give him a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE what a bunch of fools

"barbaric tactics"
That's why we call it war. If we were supposed to send presents, we would have called it Christmas.
Civility has some PR value. But many people tend to overrate PR as a marketing tool. In this conflict, almost every person already has picked sides.
Here is a good marketing slogan:
"Save us, Oh Lord, from the wrath of the Norsemen."

Sure you are, Chris. You're just too weaselly to admit it.

___War Crimes
There is no war, just the usual Jew-baiting. And since one man’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter, there is no crime.
LGF reports that over the weekend the Palestinians introduced a new sport, Non-bungee jumping. Given the penchant for theatrics in that part of the world, it may become all the rage. If nothing else, it will make quite a splash.
