Sticking a fork in Jimmy Carter
One would have thought that Jimmy Carter's many strange eruptions over the last few years would have hurt his credibility with serious people. It has.

, atIs this a "dumbo" eruption perhaps?
By Christopher Chambers, at Wed Dec 06, 11:40:00 AM:
When I see Dubya (or Tigerhawk) out building houses for poor people (without the press present or Karl Rove orchestrating it on behalf of Haley Barbor, etc.), then I'll be done with Jimmy Carter.
On my usual Monday Night Football jaunt with ex State Department Security folk at the JW Marriott's bar in DC, I was regaled with tales of the intelligence f-ups, arrogance and downright racism endemic in the Israeli Defense Ministry surrounding this latest round of horsecrap (invasions of Gaza and Lebanon). No, we didn't discuss how the Israelis managed to reinvigorate Hezbollah and the Syrians just as even Lebonese Muslims were ready to kick them to the curb. It was all that military technical garbage you all love to dissect, eat, vomit back up and chew on again and again.
Oh and then one of them was musing about this so-called security wall along the West Bank. It seems that it is not only as porous as our Mexican border, but illicit traffic is regulated by the Russian Mafia. Israel is one of their primary bases, with many capos being ex-pat Russian (or Ukrainian, as the case may be) Jews or Israeli citizens outright. Haifa is one of the gateways for human trafficking, particularly young women from Eastern Europe and those from Egypt, Jordan, the Muslim ex-Soviet republics, even India and Pakistan. Yes...and raw opium poppies from our ally Afghanistan.
Jimmy Carter represents a countervailing voice, maybe to blunt or shrill, but valuable nonetheless. You can't have a silly construct where everything Israel is or does is "GOOD" and the rest of the region "EVIL." Indeed, I give Carter credit for, as a devout Christian, he still bucks the notions of a lot of the right wing evangelical loons (some of whom are now out of the Congress and/or resigning in disgrace for popping "E" with their gay lovers LOL) who truly want to see the Apocalypse played out in the "Holy Land." In all things, balance, friggin' balance, and even those ugly, dirty, smelly brown folks who always seem to be raising their fists in the air and chanting gibberish ending in "Death to America" have their stories, their pain, their sorrow, their dreams that to them, are just as compelling as anyone else's. Hey, there was even a time when Saddam Hussien was a US ally (Dubya should ask his dad and the old Reagan folks about that).
I have even heard Carter lament that the last time another little country like Isreal (Bosnia and Serbia) led big nations around by the nose, we got World War I, which begat an even bigger horror called World War II. Is the analogy apt? I'm sure you'd scoff and dismiss it outright. We live in a world where we shouldn't scoff, however.
Now I could go into what Jimmy Carter meant and means to millions on the domestic front, but I'm sure you'd dismiss them as well--I dunno...possibly all of them welfare cheats, lazy, violent blacks, lezbo feminists, fags, anti-Semites, tree huggers, assorted other nose-picking miscreant parents of Howard Dean supporters, and the like. You know: fellow Americans. LOL
Ahh yes... Carter's dishonesty about all things Israel should be excused because he works "building houses for poor people."
While we're at it, let's give a shout out to John Wayne Gacy who volunteered at neighborhood birthday parties. What a guy! Maybe I need to volunteer at birthday parties too before I start getting my knickers in a twist about all them murders.
Is my comparison "blunt" or "shrill?" Maybe... but hey, it's "valuable nonetheless!"
I think it's fair to say that Carter's bluntness isn't the issue - hell, I'm happy to praise him for it... it makes the lies and distortions so much easier to identify for those who care to look at the evidence rather than to just cast aspersions on those who criticize him.

Those aren't the adjectives I'd use.

Well, Chris's experts are ex State Department security people, so I think we knew their answer before we started, didn't we? The people who brought us to this pass, now that we are trying something different, are sure it isn't going to work. I think we've all seen that at our regular jobs too many times.
Mr. Chambers I think the Manichean divide is on the left, not the right on this issue. Your own choice of language to describe your opponents, for example.
As for Carter, he's a self-righteous bastard, but that wouldn't necessarily make him wrong. In this case he is also wrong, as a previous associate notes in the link.
i see the PEANUT is still trying to prove what he isnt a REAL MAN He still is a mr nothing
