Books people buy but do not read

I picked up one of his books 25-30 years ago before I was familiar with his politics. [I was just a geek who was aware of his linguistics work].
Never got past page 10. He writes snoozers worse than the movie version of Dune.

I read some of his linguistics work for Intro to Linguistics sophomore year of college. It struck me as very good scholarship and reasonably readable. I've never read any of his political writings, and I expect that will continue to be the case.
