The bullet we dodged

According to John Kerry, we can include the Hezbollah-Israeli war among the many atrocities that would not have happened had he been elected in 2004:

U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D- Mass., who was in town Sunday to help Gov. Jennifer Granholm campaign for her re-election bid, took time to take a jab at the Bush administration for its lack of leadership in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

"If I was president, this wouldn't have happened," said Kerry during a noon stop at Honest John's bar and grill in Detroit's Cass Corridor.

The reason for this, according to the article, is that "Bush has been so concentrated on the war in Iraq that other Middle East tension arose as a result".

From this we can conclude that John Kerry would not have concentrated so much on Iraq after January 20, 2005, his alternative-universe inauguration day. Sure. That's exactly what Iraq needed from the United States: Less attention.

That, gentle readers, is geopolitical strategy from the last Democratic presidential nominee, the guy they put up because he was credible on national security.

CWCID: Power Line.

Aside from the obvious D studen misuse of the subjunctive mood in this statement, I find it hilarious that JFK 1.1 found a place called Honest John's to make a statement. Is there no report on the condition of the building's rafters after Mr. Kerry so spoke???

There is irony in making such serious pronouncements in a bar during lunch.

Has anyone checked the good senator's attendanec record lately (in the Senate).

Silly me I thought you could have it any way you like. Just create another (alternate) universe.
