A short note on the Firewall
Note that I can post from China, but I have not been able to see my own blog since I left Shanghai. Interestingly, there was no access to Technorati in Shanghai, but it loads just fine in Chengdu. There seems to be enormous regional variation in the application of the censoring software. More technically capable people than I will have to speculate about why this might be so.
In any case, the upshot is that I cannot read or (obviously) respond to your comments. If I am nonresponsive even by my lax standards, that is the reason.
