Justice DeLayed
Wow.
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, a Texan touched by a lobbying scandal that ensnared some of his former top aides and cost the congressman to his leadership post, won't seek re-election to Congress, a Republican official said Monday.
The question is, will DeLay's retreat today help the Republicans in that it takes away an issue, or hurt them?
I am going to bed now, but you night owls might want to check out some of the lefty blogs down at the bottom of the right sidebar. There's probably going to be a lot of entertaining commentary later in the evening. Atrios, for example, has a theory under which DeLay is cheating by not standing for re-election.

The quickness with which TD has moved to pull up stakes and strike the tents is remarkable.
He has been under relentless pressure from the left, yet with Scanlon, Rudy and (soon ?) Buckham all pleading out, one has to wonder how deeply TD was into the whole mess.
