We turned back an Air France flight
PARIS (AP) - An Air France flight headed to Chicago was forced to turn back to Paris on Friday after two hours in the air on a U.S. request, the carrier said.
The plane set down at Charles de Gaulle airport at 7:20 p.m. (1720 GMT) two hours after the flight took off, Air France said. Police met the flight as it landed, a standard procedure in such cases, according to the airline.
Air France did not immediately say why the United States wanted the flight turned back. France-Info radio said the plane was refused landing permission in the United States.
FWIW.
