The geographic dispersion of Coaliton casualties in Iraq

This animated map graphically illustrations the geographical distribution of Coalition casualties in Iraq since the beginning of the shooting war. Run it with the sound on, and then read Wretchard's commentary.

I had blogged this recently as well, but you know what, a good companion to this graphic would be one showing where all the terrorists and insurgents were killed - as well as the nationality of the terrorists killed.

Enlightening? Absolutely. We'd probably see higher numbers of Iraqi insurgents killed at the start, but replaced gradually by foreign fighters to the point that the fight is predominantly a fight between the coalition and foreign jihadis from SA, Syria, and Iran (to name the 3 biggies).

Any thoughts?
