American bloggers may bring down the Canadian government

If you spent too much time in the last few days watching Pope news and basketball, you may just be waking up to the massive scandal that is rocking Canada's government. Certain explosive details of the scandal remained deeply buried, however, because the press there is not as free to cover investigations as it is in the United States. Minnesotan Ed Morrissy of Captain's Quarters blew it open two days ago, and Canadian politics will not be the same for some time. This round-up at Winds of Change is an excellent summary of the scandal itself and the potential political fallout therefrom. This may turn out to be the blogosphere's most significant "contribution" yet to democratic politics.

UPDATE: Glenn has skads more here, including a link to CBC video.

hmmh, I was scrolling through LGF looking for low-hanging fruit (coeruleus is left-leaning satire usually examining science-related issues) and ran across your blog. Unexpectedly, I kinda liked it! I'll probably be back for more!

Tigerhawk, once again I must applaud your eagle eye (no pun intended) and diligent blogging. We do have a free press up here, but there's a publication ban on this particular trial's testimony, because the current minority government knows it will be brought down if people discovered how criminally they had squandered our money. Thank you for posting the links. You have done Canada, and Canadians, a service.
