Imus seems to think the Killian memos are forged
And if you're not reading Powerline on this story, you're out of the loop. At this point, just go to the top and start scrolling. Or, if the chronology is difficult to understand doing it that way, scroll back to the first post early Thursday morning and read forward.
Either way, it will become clear to you that CBS and Dan Rather were nothing more than eager dupes in a very transparent fraud.
UPDATE: The WaPo is all over it like ugly on an ape, and points out very early in its front page story that the Democrats, per the dumbest senator from Iowa since Roger Jepsen, ran with the obvious forgeries with no less glee than Dan Rather.
The dispute over the documents' authenticity came as Democrats stepped up their criticism of Bush's service with the National Guard between 1968 and 1973. The Democratic National Committee sought to fuel the controversy yesterday by holding a news conference at which Sen. Tom Harkin (Iowa) pointed to the documents as a fresh indictment of Bush's credibility.
Heh. This is the most poetically just news story in months. I hope it goes on for days.
UPDATE: Fixed to correct the language suggesting that Imus endorsed Kerry this morning. False, as my co-blogger pointed out and I have known forever. Bad writing on my part.
