Australian Prime Minister John Howard plays through the pain

He is really stepping up today. First, he reminded the Europeans why they're not all speaking German, or Russian:
As the US seeks European support for a fresh United Nations resolution guiding Iraq's post-war transition to democracy, the Prime Minister delivered a pointed reminder yesterday of the bleak future Europe would have faced without American help in World War II.
"Without the decisive intervention of the United States, the future of those liberated countries in Europe would have been very different," Mr Howard said.

"I think it's a lesson that should never be forgotten."

Then he reminded his own people, and the world, about what is at stake in in Iraq:
"What people have got to understand is, whatever links there were between Saddam Hussein and terrorism 13 or 14 months ago, right now the terrorists are investing an enormous amount in Iraq.

"They see victory in Iraq as a huge boost to their international cause."

Mr Howard said that was why Opposition Leader Mark Latham's desire to withdraw Australian troops from Iraq by Christmas was so wrong and why it was important that members of the coalition should remain firm.

Just another reason to be thrilled that the next TigerHawk au pair hails from Down Under. If she's at all like her Prime Minister, we know she'll be a good influence on the children!

Jack, I hope your au pair is like Howard too. Not physically though. That would be weird. And creepy.

Fine? Why Fine?

As long as she doesn't look like Howard. That would be weird.

Fine? Why Fine?(I thought I posted this comment already but it's not there. It may be floating around in the ether. Hopefully it's not a double-post.)
