Non-responseGate
This is the sort of strange logic that makes ordinary people think that Washington is populated by Pod People:
Democrats cried foul when Republicans chose not to hold a televised response directly after President Obama’s joint-session speech. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, San Francisco Democrat, said, “The Republicans’ refusal to respond to the president’s proposal on jobs is not only disrespectful to him, but to the American people.”
Huh? Pelosi is just bitter that the stupid Republicans are not nearly stupid enough to delay the beginning of the National Football League season with a meaningless "response" to a tediously predictable speech.

I was scratching my head on this one too. For Pelosi to try to make political hay out of this is really weird - and desperate. No one is caring about any of this the closer we get to football season by the hour now.
But everyone is well aware of the crappy economy, multiple wars, and their empty wallets.

This is easily explained: Pelosi's staff had prepared a statement where she accused the GOP of being disprespectful to the President and the American people because they DID respond. But then they didn't. So her staff had to fix the statement in a hurry.
Besides, nobody expects Pelosi to say anything sane anyhow.
Still, I'd rather watch Pelosi than football.
