I think there should be much more emphasis on taxing expenditure, and less on taxing income or capital. Then these arguments would fade somewhat.

Reynolds' book "Income and Wealth" is a great source of information for those interested in deconstructing the usual class warfare 'statistics.'
Great for shutting up liberals around the campfire at night.
