A self-effacing politician
It can't be said Democrat Tom Perriello, running for Congress in my mother's district in central Virginia, doesn't have a sense of humor.
Regardless of party, we need more of that.

No one will work harder to bring temporary jobs to VA.
If you re-elect me, I hope you will still have one of these jobs the next time I am up for election.

Fine. Good commercial and a sign that the Democrats are in trouble since, one supposes, having been in control of Congress since 2006 they have been working hard to create jobs and have only taxed and spent and provided unemployment; Obama since 2008.
But there is a central disconnect between the Republican Party and the people and that is the why factor. I can explain the joblessness of these past 2 years in a 15 second commercial and the difference to Reagan's glory between Reaganomics and Obamanomics ... why can't they in a 30 second commercial or a 30 minute campaign speech?
And if they cannot, they will not maximize their gains in '10 and '12 and the USA will suffer badly.
