Happy New Year!
Speaking perhaps only for myself, this year, at least, I am delighted to have a chance to start anew. I am not big on New Year's resolutions, insofar as I judge myself to be dogged by many small shortcomings rather than any really big ones. My plan is to do a little bit better on many fronts, which may amount to nothing more than vigilance in defense of the better part of me, such as it is. What are your resolutions?

As always, my resolution is to make no resolutions.
Where there are points to improve upon, make the change when you discover the need to change.
My resolution -- Make sure George Soros deposits those Krugerrands for me, as promised.

Win back the House.
Get Nancy, Barney, Henry and Charlie thrown out of their chairs.
Get my Congresswoman voted out in a shocking upset.
We can hunt them all down with dogs later.

I am seldom overtly religious at this site, as God-talk is not the norm here. Like Diane, above, I make no resolutions. It presumes upon the will of God. In 2009 our 13 y/o nephew was abandoned by his parents and we took him in as a fifth son. The year before, my brother had a crisis which lasted many months, at considerable inconvenience to us. 2007 required exceptional financial generosity we had not bargained for. (There were, of course, other surprises in those years which required us to stretch ourselves, but I note the more dramatic examples.)
We are called to answer when the bell rings, not "improve" ourselves according to our own poor fancies.

Happy New Year TH--this remains a daily stop on my blog scan and the model after which I run my own. Thanks for being the smart, locked-on thinker you are.

Forget my track record...this year I'll get it right.
