Pictures of Charlottesville and UVA
The TigerHawk Teenager and I roamed around Charlottesville this afternoon, and I snapped a few pictures...
A new rule: All college town pedestrian malls look alike. Charlottesville's is virtually identical to Iowa City's...
A brass band, playing to raise money for a food bank named for -- who else? -- Thomas Jefferson...
Miller's, which is a very nice bar...
A good use for an old garage...
Mr. Jefferson's university...
The Lawn...
Columns, columns, everywhere...
And, finally, The Corner...

I cannot read about Jefferson without my mouth becoming agape.
Botanist, inventor, musician, political philospher, agronomist, astronomer...and I'm leaving out another half dozen "hobbies." Half dozen? Dozen.
Humbling...very humbling.

...and architect who designed the grounds/layout of the University.
He also spoke and could write French, Greek and Latin.

Is it OK for the HT to sport Hokie gear in Charlottsville?
By TigerHawk, at Fri Nov 27, 09:41:00 PM:
Not really "OK," but since VT will play UVA here tomorrow there will be lots of Hokies walking around, no doubt.

Nice photos of C-Ville. I haven't been back in 11 years already, but it's nice to see it doesn't look too different than it did when I was in school there.

Is that the Starbucks that Jefferson frequented?

Jefferson was educated at W&M, of course.
SR, does that mean they still call it VPI in-state? Or just for that cheer. Good memory. That cheer was old in '71.
