Its melting! Less!

In a bit of good news that the media will not celebrate, we have reached the boreal summer Arctic sea ice "minimum" and it is above each of the last two years. Yes, it is still low and weather is not climate, but why doesn't the media make as much note of improvements as deterioration?

I think we all know the answer.

More misleading nonsense from Watts, coming not long after he tried to shut down critical YouTube videos with a bogus DMCA claim.

Note how he purposefully omits the long-term average. Try this for a better link:

Eyeballing it and comparing to memory, it looks like one of the three or four worst years in the record. And it's not clearly over, either.

This isn't good news, it's a continuation of very bad news.

Climate variation may indeed be bad news, since it's true no one will much like the coming mini ice age, but why worry about natural forces at work? Brian, don't you have things to think about that are more pressing in your daily life? Rising taxes, trade protectionism, home maintenance, credit card bills, job security, keeping warm in coming years...

Anon - I'll bet you real money that a new record low ice minimum will occur in the next 5 years, or that no record high minimum will occur in the same time. This isn't natural variation.
