Credit were credit is due

Because fair is fair, I agree with Escort81 and other bloggers of the America first persuasion that President Obama ought to get our support for having explicitly ordered Special Forces into Somalia to whack Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, one of the really bad guys. More of that, and faster, please.

Point of clarification: our esteemed lead blogger TigerHawk undoubtedly used his capitalization in a deliberate fashion, writing "America first" and not "America First," as in the America First Committee. The AFC was isolationist from its formation shortly after Poland was invaded in 1939 all the way up to Pearl Harbor. The way TigerHawk uses the term with a lower case f, I believe it is non-isolationist: that the leadership of the U.S. has a willingness to selectively use force to advance its legtimate security interests, especially against terrorist scum such as Nabhan.

There is not a great deal of isolationist sentiment in my family. Indeed, my father was a member of Veterans of Future Wars during his upperclass years at Princeton in the 1930s, which started out as a funny prank, but many members tried to at least make the point that Europe was headed for war and that the U.S. needed to engage the situation.

I wonder how long Barack needed convincing to authorize this strike?

Clever insinuation of Kenny Chesney into the Ace post too. All kinds of good things happening there.

Same thing about Afghanistan so far. Obama has done the necessary. He deserves credit for that.

As long as he holds firm and we continue to kill Taliban on both sides of the border, he deserves our support.

The consequences of 'cut and run' to Afghanistan, Pakistan and peace in the area and around the world are almost beyond comprehension. Bascially chaos with nukes.

One of the reasons that Al Qaeda has not stuck our homeland again is that they are dying in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and still in Iraq.

That said, soldiers of ours are dying because of restrictions on air support. This is the other side of Obama.

The news media and Obama's Leftist base, desperately want us to lose in Afghanistan. Let us hope that Obama will not turn that way. It's important.
