Negative Eleven

I might have overstated the thing about President Obama having a robust account of political capital in the "Waterloo" post below.

The strongly approve / strongly disapprove metric calculated by Rasmussen is now at negative eleven points.

Every media driven event has it's time in the sun...and then "jumps the shark". The ideologues will always support Obama...the conservatives will always maintain massive skepticism...but now the all-powerful "undecided voters" are weighing in.

Good thing for Obama that we are funding Acorn with massive tax dollars and moving the Census Bureau to the White House.

He will probably have to "Franken" his way thru the next election.

Yet 97% of blacks approve!!! Whatever happened to the wise words of MLK??

By Anonymous tyree, at Sun Jul 26, 03:34:00 PM:

-11? He will do much worse than that. It's sad, but he is all slogans and fuzzy plans supported by hatred of George Bush.

However, he did give authorization for the Seals to kill those pirates, so he has proved he is capable of doing what is right once in a while.

From Link,

Obama had soft support in the middle of the electorate, which he's losing. The Gates affair distracted from the fact that last week's prime time presser was awful. I listened to some of it as I was driving. Obama didn't answer direct questions about the cost and efficacy of Healthcare. Pretend that Obama was trying to convince a good corporate board to take substantial changes in the company -- with that kind of performance he'd have his head handed to him. Obama is innumerate, I'm convinced.

People in the middle mostly don't have an agenda. Unless it's national security, when in doubt they'd rather a President who did nothing. Obama is wearing their patience thin. The Gates affair alone lost Obama 2-3% of the middle.

Trouble is the Democrats have the votes and that may not change in 2010 or even by 2012. The Republicans don't have a strong call on the disaffected middle.

Link, over

JPMct next time get the facts straight before you hit the send button.

By Blogger Dan Kauffman, at Sun Jul 26, 06:14:00 PM:

@anonymous I went to your get the facts straight link

Why is ACORN which has been involved in massive voter fraud involved with a Federal Program at all, or getting any Taxpayer funding?

By Blogger Dan Kauffman, at Sun Jul 26, 06:16:00 PM:

Along with an Approval Index of -11 Obamas total approval on Rasmussen has been below 50% for the last two days and for the last 4 weeks the Generic Ballot gives the Republican Party the edge this week by 4 points

@ Anon 4:33

Oh, I see you have been reading Politifact. Gee, is this the same "non-partisan" organ that assigned Sarah Palin's admonition that Obama would experiment in socalism with one of their "Pants on Fire" designations?

Good Lord, man, read the tone of the article. Do you detect even the slightest Left Wind slant?

No...I suppose not.

So, it would be a useless excercise of my interosseous musculature to type in the actual "facts" of the case.

Suffice it to say that there is approximately 8 BILLION (with a "B")dollars allocated to "non-profit community groups" in grant money in this legislation. Over the past 5 years. ACORN has slashed through over 31 million in Federal money.

They get the funds through a complex maze of over 100 leftist organizations, often leaving a slime trail that is quite difficult to follow.

So, Anon, although your cute little St. Petersburg screed may say that the word "ACORN" is not in the legislative package...believe me...the money has already started flowing.

This organization doesn't need a Democrat Slush Fund...it needs a Justice Department investigation.

I guess they're too busy hunting down Dick Cheney....

Actually, vickie, I'm not a completely gullible moron. For instance, I did not vote for Obama.

How is the whole "Hopey-Changey" thing workin' out for ya, anyway?

By Anonymous Boludo Tejano, at Sun Jul 26, 11:27:00 PM:

Pasadena Vicki, some unsolicited advice. With your sneering tone you come across with the intellectual maturity of a high school freshman. We would rather be exposed to your intellect than your sneers, were it possible.

I assume you are capable of more than snarky one-liners. Is this a correct assumption?

BTW, "I am polite but you conservatives are not," is a rather lame argument. Your sneering really came through then.

"You people?" Who else talks about "you people?"

By Anonymous vicki pasadena ca, at Sun Jul 26, 11:37:00 PM:

Boludo Tejano, Struck a nerve?

By Anonymous Boludo Tejano, at Mon Jul 27, 01:21:00 AM:

Pasadena Vicki: are you aware that you recycle your one-liners? At least do us the courtesy of coming up with some new one-liners, lest you sound like a skipping record.

By Blogger Gary Rosen, at Mon Jul 27, 02:04:00 AM:

You know, vicki, the quality of left-wing trolls on right-wing blogs has been going downhill steadily since the inauguration. Is this because Axelrod has cut funding now that Obama is safely in power, or is it because as BO's unfitness for the office daily becomes more apparent it is getting harder to recruit new astroturfers?

By Anonymous vicki pasadena ca, at Mon Jul 27, 11:45:00 AM:

Gary

Thanks for the comment on left wing "trolls". It could also be said that the right wing vitriol has been stepped up since the election, with the righties having nothing better to do than slam whatever is going on in Washington or the world that is not going their way. When I see and hear the unabashed hatred spewing from the mouth's of people like Rush, Hannity and especially Beck, I think to myself, "does anyone really believe all the @#$% that they are saying?" I didn't listen to all the Bush hate speeches and vitriol on the left, thought they were all "losers". Now I am supposed to take all those people at their word? Everyone has an agenda, and the aforementioned "pundits" only want to serve THEMSELVES, not us. They want to rachet up the rhetoric because it is their raison d'etre. I am disheartened each time I watch one of them or have to listen to them. Why? Not because I am a left wing "troll", but because I am someone who wants the best for all Americans, and they are not the one's who are looking out for me.

If you have read my blogs at all you will know that i am a thoughtful, reasoned person until I am riled. I have a few hot buttons, beliefs I have held since college, many, many years ago.
If it makes you feel better to call me name, have at it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Mon Jul 27, 01:19:00 PM:

Link,

I for one welcome good leftist bloggers here, else its just an echo chamber.

From what I've seen, Vicki isn't a troll.

I do disagree with her here. We're about to see one of the biggest robberies in history as billions get diverted through stimulus and Obama spending. Some of it will be used to subvert the census too, I fear. We put a Chicago gang in power, after all.

By Blogger Gary Rosen, at Mon Jul 27, 05:19:00 PM:

"you will know that i am a thoughtful, reasoned person"

Haven't seen it here, just the usual canned left-wing talking points accompanied by the hypocritical demonization of conservatives as "raaaaacist!"

By Anonymous vicki pasadena ca, at Mon Jul 27, 09:55:00 PM:

Gary, dear Gary, you obviously don't read my stuff. Never called anyone racist, or as you pontificate raaaacist!! Not my style. Not canned either, which is more than I can say for some of the stuff that is espoused by some others. I may,in my frustration, at the (in my opinion) tunnel vision of some on the right, want to smack someone in the face. I would never do it. Also not my style.

By Blogger Gary Rosen, at Mon Jul 27, 11:15:00 PM:

"Never called anyone racist"

False. On another thread you had the following exchange with "Tress"

Tress:
"I can't help but wonder how many conservatives would rush to the defense of a black cop who threw handcuffs on a white homeowner because he talked back to the black cop?

*crickets*"

And you replied:

"Right on, Tress... The answer, no one would."

... unmistakably insinuating racism on the part of conservatives. That's why I have little regard for what you say, vicki, because you just won't own up. I guess you assume that everyone knee-jerks accusations. I said what I said with that specifically in mind.

Pasadena Vicki:
When I see and hear the unabashed hatred spewing from the mouth's of people like Rush, Hannity and especially Beck…
Document, please. Or is documentation unnecessary for a “thoughtful, reasoned person” such as yourself?

If you have read my blogs at all you will know that i am a thoughtful, reasoned person...
And so polite also, in contrast to those dastardly neocons, when you so thoughtfully informed us that “courtesy was destroyed by the neocons when they decided that it was ‘cool and right and just’ to murder doctors in the name of ‘saving lives.’ ”

In addition to being so thoughtful, reasoned and polite, you’re also pretty good at patting yourself on the back. Congratulations.

By Blogger Assistant Village Idiot, at Tue Jul 28, 08:32:00 PM:

I would like to draw folks attention, over and over again, to the left-hand side of those approval numbers, and note how many people who voted against Obama nonetheless gave him a clean slate when he started, hoping he would do well.

Apparently, even some of right-wing bigots wiped the slate clean.

By Anonymous Boludo Tejano, at Wed Jul 29, 09:47:00 PM:

Goodness gracious, Pasadena Vicki, can't support your "hate" claim with any documentation?

Interesting that when you were called on demonizing conservatives as "racist," you denied it, when the words where you insinuated that were plain as day.

Do I detect an aversion to facts on the part of Pasadena Vicki?

1)Did not document "hate" claim when asked for said documentation.
2)Denied you had said something when you actually had said it.(Stating that "no one(conservative) would" in that context is as good as calling all conservatives racist.)
