Insatiable: Eliot Spitzer needed more than Ashley Dupre
Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer has been trying to rehabilitate himself recently. Not wanting that to happen and being generally in an impish mood, we call your attention to the latest news in the scandal that took him down last year:
Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer fed his insatiable appetite for high-priced call girls by frolicking with them in swanky hotels in at least three states, a lawyer for an admitted hooker-booker said Monday.
The love gov partied with a dizzying array of $5,500-an-hour hookers before he was outed as the infamous "Client 9" who paid for sex with hooker Ashley Dupre, lawyer Marc Agnifilo said.
Hooker-booker Temeka Lewis found out the real identity of Client 9 months before the news broke when one of Spitzer's mini-harem of prostitutes recognized him from TV, he said.
Lewis, 33, of Brooklyn who cut a deal with prosecutors to save her own skin, was sentenced Monday to a year's probation in the blockbuster case.
Lewis agreed to cooperate with the feds' probe of the Emperors Club call girl ring on March 11, 2008, the day before Spitzer resigned in disgrace.
Agnifilo said Lewis told the feds that Spitzer was a much more regular and long-term customer of the Emperors Club than was known before.
The booker set up secret trysts for Spitzer in New York, Washington and several other cities for a year and a half before the case exploded in public.
"Ms. Lewis provided the government with the names of hotels, the approximate dates of meetings, the names of women the governor saw, different names the governor utilized," Agnifilo wrote in court papers.
Federal District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin cited Lewis' extensive cooperation in giving the churchgoing University of Virginia grad a slap on the wrist.

The judge slapped Lewis on the wrist? Not a huge fan of the tat above the bikini line, but otherwise, she ranks way lower on the skank scale than Dupre.
