Chicago still life

I've been telling my kids that if we have a return of the 1970s we can at least look forward to good music in New York. Rap started in the Bronx ... we had the Ramones from Queens ... and the Blues Brothers started in Tribeca -- when people lived there in industrial lofts because it was dirt cheap -- not because it was trendy.
Back in the day my friend had a graphics business in Tribeca -- we'd all go to Walkers ... great bar ... then mostly filled by after work cops and firemen ... hardly anyone lived in Tribeca. The local firehouse was across the street ... you know it from Ghost Busters.
Dan Ackroyd lived in Tribeca and rented a local dive bar to have a place to park his motorcycle. This led to legendary after hours parties after Saturday Night Live shows ... which led to jam sessions ... which led to Belushi grabbing the mike ... the Blues Brothers were born. It's a toot of a movie ... almost makes me want to visit Chicago.

"almost makes me want to visit Chicago"
IMHO, the most miserable place to get stuck on business on the planet.
