Caption contest
Althouse is having a caption contest for this photo:

I actually think that the FLOTUS, with a General seated to her left, is looking past Carla Bruni (the former singer and model, and wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy) and not at her, but the expression on her face is apparently not a happy one.
Let me say that I would have no problem sitting between them and acting as a buffer, and engaging in routine chit chat. My French is still passable -- Madame, comment était le ski dans Courchevel cette année? -- and I could exchange pleasantries with the FLOTUS, asking how her older brother is doing coaching at OSU out in the PAC 10. The Secret Service and and French security could easily vet me. Just another service humbly provided by Escort81, this time in the interests of world peace.
