Ezra moves to the WaPo

My favorite lefty blogger -- which I appreciate runs the risk of sounding a lot like "the best hockey player in Ecuador" -- has moved to the Washington Post. The "left to center" blogroll on the right sidebar has been adjusted accordingly.

Ezra has made a big move in a short time. Just a few years ago he was an undergraduate in California. By dint of good writing, smart thinking, an adequate dose of humility by blogging standards (bloggers as a class not being particularly humble people), Ezra took full advantage of the opportunity to build a reputation on his own in the "low trust" world of the blogosphere. In the credentialized world of "high trust" media, he never could have come this far this fast. Yet another way in which blogging is changing the traditional media game.

Of course, I disagree with Ezra Klein a lot more often than I agree with him, and oppose many of his policy proscriptions. So, much as I respect Ezra and am always interested in his writing, I hope he fails. You know, in just the way Rush Limbaugh hopes Barack Obama fails.

Well, he's not Lippman or Reston from the golden age of print columnists (which is about as analogous as you can get for this age of bloggers), but he's damn good.
