Self-help
I am a big believer in self-help, self-help books not so much. That said, it is obvious that Americans in particular go in for them, so you should know that John Hawkins (who apparently knows how many books he has read in his life, which is both interesting and a bit strange) has rated the "The Top 10 Self-Help Books of All Time" over at Right Wing News. Curiously, he omits The Holy Bible, which I imagine would make the cut on many such lists, but includes Atlas Shrugged, an inspired selection that will make enormous sense to the many people who have read that book and changed their view of the world on account of it.

, atYou say it is "curious" that the Bible is left off a list of self-help books. Not at all. That is the last book that should be on such a list. That's the whole point of the book, after all.

Well, I suppose that is a matter of interpretation! But good point nonetheless.
