Bill Clinton for Senate?
With Caroline Kennedy's bid for Hillary's Senate seat looking a bit less automatic, there is now some chatter that Bill Clinton might step into his wife's sensible shoes. Kathryn Lopez thinks this shines up Caroline by comparison, but not in my book. Nothing would be more hilarious -- no pun intended -- than Bill Clinton loose in the United States Senate with Hillary at Foggy Bottom and Barack Obama in the White House. It's the first glimmer of hope that conservatives, or at least conservative bloggers, have had since Obama made his post-election power move to grab the center.

OH, NO!
Hasn't the US senate, the world's most ridiculous deliberative body, got enough problems?!?!
Then again, I think that William Jefferson Clinton would be a perfect replacement for his spouse, and NY deserves him!

There's even historical precedents - Andrew Johnson was elected to the Senate by Tennessee in 1874, six years after he'd served as president; he served as Senator for four months before dying of a stroke. John Quincy Adams served 17 years as a Representative after leaving the presidency.
It would be hilarious watching President Obama deal with Senator Bill Clinton ...
Just a minor clarification regarding Andrew Johnson: he was actually elected by the Tennessee legislature and not by the voting populace. Direct popular election of senators did not begin until after passage of the 17th Amendment in 1913--38 years after Johnson's death in July 1875.
Aside from this, here's what would be really hilarious: Senator Bill Clinton denouncing various foreign policy initiatives of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
This would make for some interesting "pillow talk" (assuming Bubba and the Hildabeast even still sleep together), n'est-ce pas?

Did you ever wonder whether life is a play....or, in this case, a comedy skit!!?
, atSure, the seat would cost Clinton the million that Paterson demanded as a bribe but, the Congressional immunity that Willie would have would allow him, in turn, to steal much more than that while everyone was looking at Obama.

Actually with the Clinton legacy of Triangulation, we would expect many cases over the next years of each Clinton advocating different viewpoints, and eventually both settling on a "winner" (defined as which side donated the most money). Add in Congressional Immunity and you have a Win-Win opportunity for Slick Willie. (despite what the rest of us think)
SSDD. *sigh*

Slick Willie in the Senate could let his fingers do the walking through the pages.
