Dubai Mystery Photo!

I traveled from Dubai to Madrid today, the first leg a delightfully empty KLM jumbo jet to Amsterdam. I now have access to Flickr, which is blocked in the UAE against the possibility that somebody might see, well, boobs. The Dubai photos are coming, the first being a mystery photo contest. What is the blue stuff, what is the yellow stuff, and what are they used for?

Different fertilizers?

Mutant blueberries and broken bananas, for feeding to tourists.

Charcoal briquettes and sidewalk chalk . . . for drawing boobs.

Sulfur and some copper compound.

I'd guess used for fireworks, although I'm not aware of Dubai being a hub for that sort of thing.

But then, if that's true, why are they being sold alongside a bag of grass clippings?

Easy - you combine them to get green stuff!

Dawnfire, you are correct that the yellow stuff is sulfur. You are incorrect as to the use of the sulfur (in this context), and you are incorrect about the blue stuff.

I'd say gardening and farming supplies, sulphur is an anti-fungal
long used for farming, the blue I cannot say but a lot of fertilizers are blue. It looks like lava rocks or charcoal briquets in one of the bins.

Ooops, I meant DJMooreTX, and brainfarted Dawnfire82 in my comment. Apologies.

Hookah paraphernalia

Easy. The blue stuff is Viagra. The yellow stuff is suppositories. The black stuff is Christmas presents.

By Blogger DJMooreTX, at Thu Oct 02, 06:47:00 PM:

OK, 1 of 2; I'll take what I can get.

Are all the displayed wares being sold by the same vendor, or are those fiber bags to the left from the next stall over?

Is everything in the picture used for the same endeavor, like cooking or art?

By Blogger DJMooreTX, at Thu Oct 02, 06:52:00 PM:

Ah!

This is a dyer's stall. The blue stuff is indigo.

And we have a winner! DJMooreTX, congratulations. You win the usual prize, glory among the smartest commenters in the blogosphere.
