Who mourns for Adonis?
Barack Obama's campaign overflows with Star Trek imagery. First we had the "O" salute, strangely reminiscent of the great original Trek episode "The Way To Eden." I wondered about this, since Democrats usually appeal to Herbert. Now, Fausta points out, Obama has borrowed the set from "Who Mourns For Adonis?"
Please offer your own suggestions for additional Original Trek imagery that ought to be incorporated into the Obama campaign (and, no, references to "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" are not welcome).

Maybe Obama and Hillary could battle it out on a Triskelion arena set using a couple of bat'leths (one was confiscated over in Britain) while the Star Trek battle music blares over the loudspeakers.
Meanwhile, Bill would play the part of Kirk with all the ladies at the convention, about half of them would be saying, "Brain and brain! What is brain?"
The Tantalus Chair.
The Doomsday Machine.
And of course, Obama as Spock in "Spock's Brain."
If you remember the Michael Douglas/Kathleen Turner movie "Jewel of the Nile", there is a scene where the evil ruler Omar puts on a big rock show-like production, complete with a rising stage and fireworks, to terrify the locals into believing he is a god.

It reminds me more of the Stonehenge bit in Spinal Tap!
, atDownside to TOS refs at this point: The denouement of the original script for Who Mourns has McCoy announcing that the female crewmember who'd been "friendly" with Apollo is pregnant, and the others wonder what medical procedures there are for giving birth to a god. "There!" someone will shout. "You brought up a story that had a black man having sex with a white woman! RACISTS!"

Shouldn't "O-donis" be the ne plus ultra future referent for his O-ness?

CBS used to have all the Star Trek TOS episodes online, they have removed a lot lately but still enough to research a bit.
