War guilt
Michael Totten knows who started the Russo-Georgian war, and it was not Georgia. He must be on to something, because the post seems to have earned him a denial-of-service attack.
Read the whole thing, if for no other reason than to understand who we are dealing with.

In re to the Russian invasion of Georgia, did you see Obama's latest press release? In it he calls for the U.S. to immediately get the UN Security Council to condemn Russia's aggression and further isolate the Russians internationally.
That's going to be tough to do, what with the Russian's having Security Council veto power and all. Do you think Obama forgot that little fact, or just never knew it at all?
Again, we ask: is Obama an idiot?

I hope a DDOS attack is the worst Michael Totten has to go thru. He has a dangerous job, and Putin has shown to the world how badly he takes critics.

The whole Totten's piece hinges on some "large Russian column" entering the Roki tunnel on August 7. There is no independent confirmation of that. Take this "column" away and we are back to the conventional picture of Georgians and Ossetins shooting at each other, with Georgia finally unleashing the big hit on the city of Tskhinvali.
Now, if it is true that Saakashvilli received three reports about a "large Russian column" passing through the Roki tunnel and gave order to his troops to roll through Tskhinvali to meet the Russians at the Roki, why doesn't Saakashvilli just say so? Just say, "I ordered my troops to break through Tskhinvali to counterattack Russian invasion at the Roki", and all will be clear. But Saakashvilli doesn't say it.
So Saakashvilli himself doesn't confirm Totten's theory. Do we have any other confirmations?

The Russians had to get where the ended up somehow. They haven't yet developed teleportation technology.
