Blackouts in the strangest places
Blackouts! Yet another example of the incompetence of the U.S. occupation and the Bush administration:
Iranians on Saturday were told to cut their electricity consumption by 10 percent or face daily power cuts because of a severe drought and low production at hydroelectric power plants.
Residents of the capital Tehran could face up to four hours of blackouts each day, officials said according to media reports.
"If consumers do not cut down consumption by 10 percent, we will have blackouts until the end of the summer," Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Ahmadian told Fars news agency.
Oh. Wait. This story is about Iran.
Never mind, then.

Well, I'm sure Lord Farquat is leading the way in Al Gore manner ... using low energy bulbs and stuff to help his country conserve power.
Or, they're using it as propoganda to argue that the nuclear reactors aren't for weapons as much as for power generation. If those mean Americans and the dreaded Jews weren't meddling, there'd be power galore, and the equivalent of a chicken in every pot.

But you were right to start wtih: it's all really caused by the illegal US occupation and the Bush administration. The mullahs have to burn extra juice staying await nights thinking how to counter Bushhitler's machanations. Besides, they can't really focus on maintaining their electrical grid when they're up late worrying about US imperialism.

10% cut in electricity?
Because they think that millions of of their population doesn't exist, they have not planned enough surplus electrical capacity. After all, their are no gays in Iran, right?
