In re "polygamy ranch"
Tom Kirkendall has some good thinking on the Texas polygamy ranch case, including yesterday's appellate decision that the State of Texas had illegally grabbed the kids.

First part of the article was sound.
The second part was the predictable wheeze.
As my wife pointed out to me some time ago, this had nothing to do with "child abuse". It was all about hating "the Patriarchy".

No, it was about child abuse, plain and simple. On a about three dozen levels. But it figures, in the name of what--some bizarre right wing creed, you'd come out somehow in favor of this decision. I have never seen a court intervene in the decision of a government agency which based it's decision not only on rational evidence, but CLEAR evidence...indeed also predicting outcomes...which even the Supreme Court seems ready to play with the First Amendment over...to come to this decision. Don't circle the wingnut wagons over this and paint some vast feminist conspiracy. Don't you dare. Shame on you all, otherwise. SHAME.
I know things are pretty bad for you brownshirts lately, but don't confirm your "other side of the coin" existence vis. "Islamafascists" by descending even lower into extremism...
