Identity politics makes strange bedfellows

Because of what I do I am on the mailing list for most of the big speaker bureaus, and just got this promotion from Leading Authorities:

April 2, 2008: Women on the World Symposium
Presentation: 8:00 a.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be served.

This year's speakers will include:
Donna Brazile, political commentator and chair of the Voting Rights Institute
Jenna Bush, international child rights advocate and New York Times bestselling author
Liz Cheney, former principle deputy assistant secretary of state, Near Eastern Affairs
Dawn Hudson, former president and CEO of PepsiCo North America
Andrea Koppel, former CNN congressional correspondent
Kathleen Madigan
, American Comedy Award-winning comedian
Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC News chief medical editor
Iyanla Vanzant, inspirational author and television personality

Click here for a full description.
Why do I have the feeling that Donna Brazile can get her mind around sharing the program with Liz Cheney, but is seething about Jenna Bush?
