Will "Wrong-headed Chuck" Hagel run on the Bloomberg ticket?
There's a rumor going around that Michael Bloomberg and Chuck Hagel may team up for a run at the White House. Good news for the Republicans, I would say. In particular, the regular running of advertisements with Hagel's profoundly incorrect predictions about "the surge" ("This is a dangerously wrong-headed strategy that will drive America deeper into an unwinnable swamp at a great cost... We cannot escape the reality that there will be no military solution in Iraq") should both interdict Republican defections to Bloomberg and promote Democratic ones.

Does anyone think for a moment a third New Yorker would not be met with instant rejection by the voters?
Heck he only said it in jest while having his tributes yesterday, but it would be more likely that Trent Lott could stand a better chance than Bloomberg at this point.
Having said that, it sure would throw the New York vote up for grabs and throw a lot of well made plans out the window.

Good news for the Republicans...if they don't nominate yet another nanny-stater (Huckabee). I'd vote for Bloomberg over any Democrat (at least he's competent and relatively fiscally conservative), and I'd vote for any Republican but Huckabee over Bloomberg.
, atWhat about a Kucinich/Paul or Paul/Kucinich ticket, another Billary ticket. SEW

The problem with Bloomberg is that his money will insulate him from requiring a great level of support. He could compete to the finish and be a spoiler.
Edgehopper: I would like to know how you define Bloomberg as a fiscal conservative.
