My whereabouts
I'll be in San Diego and environs for a few days cavorting with neurosurgeons and such, arriving home on the red-eye next Friday morning, so for most of the next week I'll be in West Coast time with all the usual implications for our loyal readers.
It is very nice out here, and I expect to learn a lot, too. Indeed, I was, until less than one minute ago, in a very good mood. This news has darkened it.
Damn.

GOD IS PUNNISHING YOU FOR VISITING THE HEATHANS IN CALIFORNEA!!!!1!!!!
I just wanted to beat Bird of Paradise to the punch. :)
Yes, California is beautiful this time of year. Maybe a tad warm in the southern area, but not bad. Speaking as an ex-Californian now living in Florida, I can attest that "it's not the heat, it's the humidity." The dry air of CA is the one thing I miss.
And wasn't San D. pretty? What I like about it is that from almost any spot in the city, you can peek between a couple of buildings and see the white sails of sailboats off in the distance. There's also a section of town that's something like Venice, in that you can boat to the store, movie theater, Radio Shack, etc, just like in a car. Pretty cool.
When RINO Schwarzenegger became governor, I started telling people I was from Delaware.
Embarrassment is such a driving force.

With five seconds left, I was expecting the students to storm the field and leave Gene Chizek's head on a pike outside the stadium as a warning to any coach who would leave the most important game on the schedule in the hands (off the foot?) of Shank Culbertson.
A Hawkeye who isn't a barking moonbat. Strange.
