A new treatment for depression
Back before unprotected sex could kill you, this would have been a handy bit of information to have.
CWCID: Cassandra, who absolutely, positively, did not link to that article.

, atUm, I know pharma is more in your line than mine, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how this remarkable discovery can be monetized. Pills, maybe, but one assumes caplets are off the table...
, atI guess O'Reilly has to redo that piece on the Colorado school and the sex talks -- apparently teaching kids not to use protection not only "feels better" but has positive mental effects as well.

What about men?
If I drink a pint of semen a day, will I be happier?

Yes, Screwy. You should do that.

So much for this being a family feature...
But TH, I want to know how we can bottle this and make a profit. Actually, I don't literally need instructions on the bottling part, just the profit, thanks...

I just remembered this has been tried.

Here's the killer ap. Impregnate condoms with an isolate of the active substance in semen. Call the post-coital effect "Trojan Tranquility." The placebo effect alone will probably be useful. If there is an insufficient amount in a single condom, increase the frequency of administration.

Probably not, but you'd make Greenwald and Sullivan's A-list.
I don't care how hideously depressed I might ever be, I wouldn't even consider something along these lines. But then, seeing a long-held personal theory get endorsed by a serious source like this means I won't be depressed for a while.
, atOn a more serious note, Dr. Meg Meeker in her new book "Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters" calls the prevailing depression in teenage girls who engage in sex the latest and most deadliest sexually transmitted disease. In her years as a Pediatrician in more cases then not whenever there was a depressed or suicidal girl, there was usually some sort of abberant or emotionally premature sex taking place. Good book - highly recommend it for anybody who is raising daughters.

Okay everyone, correlation is really not causation. There are probably a lot more personality traits associated with unsafe sex than just "high-risk taking." (And although this would make sense if men were receiving the semen, since we all know where their brains are, vaginas are not so closely associated...)
