Transferred from GITMO?

By Blogger Christopher Chambers, at Tue Jun 26, 01:59:00 PM:

Is it true each of those soldiers has a different face (some with mustaches, etc.) and the animals are different--as if the first emperor had his army copied, man for man?

It's nice to see that there were indeed other things going on in the world other than the Romans watching your ancestors paint themselves blue. LOL

Speaking of archeology, there is a liberal urban legend that the fundamentalist Christians in the Adminstration and the Pentagon are systematically looting and destroying the sites, cunieform tablets and artifacts of civilizations going back to the minute men indeed "civilized" themselves in what is now Iraq, as far back as 8,000 years ago. Many Biblical stories can be traces to myths from those cultures, or events readily explaned as natural phenomena. In this urban myth-conspiracy, there are other even baser motivations for polluting these sites (with permutations involving everything from bootlegging antiquities to neo-cons trying to hide some truth about how and when the Holy Land was settled). Hey, I'm just bringing it up. Knock it down if you want, but even Napolean started the whole science of Egyptology when he invaded in 1799. What the hell have we done there? Even Saddam preserved the sites, from the most recent Babylonian and Assyrian empires all the way back to the earliest river settlements. It would ashamed if there was an element of truth there...

I hope you find an element of truth in this:

Peddlers of idiotic conspiracy theories are douchebags who specialize in half-truths and paranoia.

Obviously Christopher Chambers forgot to take his meds....
