On banning guns: What could possibly go wrong?
The May 5th issues of The Economist -- still in its cherished position by my throne -- contains a rather amusing letter to the editor from one Karl Reitz of Washington, D.C.:
SIR - I applaud your idea of banning guns. Perhaps we could model such a ban on the successful prohibition of cocaine. Once guns were banned surely no one would be able to get access to them. If they did, the government could launch a "war" against the sale and use of such weapons. This war would certainly be effective and be limited to reasonable costs. I don't see how anything could possibly go wrong with the plan.

I recieved some shocking information in an email today:
I found some statistics that you may find of interest...
Doctors:
(A) The number of doctors in the U.S. Is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 17.14%.

Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. Is 80,000,000 (yes that's 80million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, All age groups, is 1,500
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.001875%

So statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, guns don't kill people, doctors do.
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR

We must ban doctors before this gets completely Out of hand!!!
Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld Statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

All the gun control laws and not one of them work why dont they try putting crinmals in prison and making them serve the sentence and quit the fooling around
