The full Monty

John Edwards' neighbor Monty Johnson (who famously deployed his fence in support of Rudy Giuliani) has decided against bringing a lawsuit for defamation against Elizabeth Edwards. But he wants an apology.

Mrs. Edwards, it turns out, has no class. Unlike Mrs. Obama, who rules! I wouldn't vote for either of their husbands because of their clueless politics, of course, but Michelle owns my heart.

Well Miss Sissy, I'm sure Michelle would kindly take your hand and shake it, and this whisper to ne of her homegirls "I'd like to break my foot off in that boney heiffer's butt. for what she says about my husband." Y'all thought you knew Al Roker, too, until he surprised a whole lot of folks over this Imus thing.

"Clueless politics?" I suppose Michelle wants to invite you over with lady often called a racist cur, Ms. Malkin, over for tea and discuss her hubby deficiencies? Maybe a Tupperware demo from Anne Coulter and the Rush can hand out the 'luudes so everyone can grab a quick nap.

The truth? Monty Johnson didn't sue because (1)he has no case (2) he's a mean tool and toolishness can be used against you when you sue for something like defamation, (3) the usual right wing legal foundations (everything from $4/gallon gas is patriotic to "Forget Science! Read the Bible!) didn't have the budgets for a frivilous romp, and they learned their lesson with Paula Jones (4) it's not in the Talking points anymore to attack Mrs. Edwards, now that she's been to Oprah's bosom. Bad form, guys--didn't you get the email from Hannity?

All too much legal shenannigans goin' on down there in N. Carolina right now anyway. But, Chambers, sheesh, Ann Coulter with a sex and party change.

Coulter and Rush aren't running for public office, and you don't hear about their spouses or significant others calling people names.

Mrs. Edwards started this by calling him a "rabid, rabid Republican". Whether she meant "he owns a firearm", or that he "put Go Rudy G 2008" on a fence, we don't know. But she needn't call people names.

Now, the guy Monte should swing by the Friendly Barber for a nice haircut, get a nice shave and get Hisself on National TV. Turn on the humble, taxpaying, God-fearing American thing, and just have a gentle conversation about how he was just mindin' his bidness, exercising his right to free speech, when up and comes this Mrs. Edwards in her $6M house on a hunnert acres, calling him bad names and she and the Husband talking junk about two Americas.

Put it all over the news. Edwards was apparently a good lawyer. And he made a lot of money, and a lot of enemies. Local word is he moved out of Raleigh cause he just sued too many people, and he made no friends doing it.

A nice self-proclaimed country guy, "son of a millworker" and Southerner should know better than to throw stones and speak ill of his neighbors. It's just bad form, and it doesn't go over well.

As for Monte, his fence is no different than a bumper sticker.
